Ethan Andersen, Owner and Principal Architect
Ethan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Philadelphia University where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree. He is a well-rounded designer, with a tremendous amount of experience working on projects ranging from wineries and restaurants to single-family homes and remodels. His collaborative approach and ability to transform ideas into beautiful spaces has earned him the opportunity to design for HGTV’s “Curb Appeal”. In 2010 Ethan began Drafting Cafe out of a desire to define a new type of architecture firm with more commitment to client service and transparency. Ethan is an avid mountain biker, and cross-country skier. He lives in Oakland with his wife and 2 children.
Ron Wedding, Production Coordinator
Ron received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and has years of experience across several residential architecture firms in California. He appreciates the opportunity to help improve the way people live in their homes and is especially interested in adaptive reuse and small space living.
He is passionate about D.I.Y. culture, repurposing, up-cycling and 3D product design. Ron is also a Linux hobbyist, a kayak fisherman and a lover of music.
Kate Arnest, Project Manager
Kate received her Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from Iowa State University. She specializes in residential design and enjoys helping people through the process of bringing their dream homes to reality.
She has lived in Oakland for three years with her husband, twin girls, cat Baxter and puppy Murphy. She volunteers at her children’s elementary school and enjoys boating and water skiing.
Jennifer Kang, Account Manager
Jennifer’s role as Account Manager is to assure that your needs are being met at all times, and that your project stays on track. Never hesitate to reach out to her with any questions or concerns. Jennifer administers our weekly staff meetings to review the status of projects and coordinate next steps, and assures that all of our projects are in good hands.
Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She bikes to work everyday and teaches yoga in the East Bay.
Walker Witte, As-Built Coordinator
Walker decided to pursue a career in architecture after exploring several other fields. He is most interested in architectural design as it relates to Environmental Behavior Studies— how the built environment affects people’s quality of life. He attended Dominican University of California, where he studied Humanities with an emphasis in Environmental Studies.
He bikes to work everyday and enjoys outdoor activities like rock climbing and backpacking. Walker also recently traveled around Asia for a year before settling in Japan to teach kindergarten for another year. He has one cat, Shyoji.
